Adrian Carter’s latest release Myths is the culmination of a year’s work with over thirty individuals in order to get it to fruition. Each of the fourteen tracks covers one of the characters from the myths of ancient Greece with its magical realms of gods and monsters. Contributions
came from all over the world and were set to an electronic soundtrack which moves from dark soundscapes to rhythmic electronics.
After the tracks were written the vocal performances were obtained by using social media as a way to crowd source contributions. Some were established musicians who recorded their vocals in studios. In other instances recordings were done in people’s homes or via mobile phones (there was considerable trial and error with the latter method). It was an interesting way of working and in some ways helped improve the writing process because as I obtained more voices I found myself writing
additional pieces to accommodate them.
The album was mastered by Dean Honer at The Bowling Green Studios and the artwork was created by Varrod Goblink (the two of them are better known as I
released 24 March 2014
